Forge Agent

Forge Agent is Rapidflare's long-horizon agent. Where the standard agent answers a question in a single pass, Forge takes on work that spans many steps: it plans an approach, researches across your knowledge sources and files, works through the task, and hands back finished deliverables alongside its answer.

In the product it appears as Pro Agent — that is the label on the toggle in the chat composer and on the hub's agent mode setting. "Forge" is the name of the agent itself; the two refer to the same thing throughout these docs.

What "long-horizon" means

A long-horizon agent is one that can keep working on a single request instead of replying to it. Over one turn, Forge will search, read what it finds, follow up on gaps, run calculations, write files, check its own output, and revise — then answer.

That changes what you can ask for. The standard agent is the right tool for "what's the operating temperature of part ABC-123?". Forge is the right tool for "compare our three amplifier families against the competitor's, and give me a deck I can take to the customer."

Both agents ground their answers in the same knowledge and cite it the same way. Forge is not a different knowledge base; it is a different amount of effort applied to it.

What it can do

Research across everything the hub knows. Your ingested knowledge sources, your product catalog and glossary, files loaded onto the hub, files you attach to a message, and the public web — combined in one turn, with internal facts kept clearly distinct from public ones.

Work with real files. Forge has a working file space for the conversation. It can read a folder of documents, pull the parts it needs into its workspace, and refer back to them across turns. Curated folders of files are attached through Filespaces.

Produce deliverables, not just text. A turn can end with downloadable artifacts — a presentation, a PDF report, a data file — rendered as tiles under the answer.

Learn your procedures. Skills teach Forge a repeatable task or a house format — how your RFP responses are structured, how your datasheets look — and it picks the right one up when the request calls for it.

Hold context over a long conversation. Attachments, workspace files and everything it learned in earlier turns stay available, so follow-ups build on the work rather than restarting it.

Turning it on

Admins and super admins see a Pro Agent toggle in the chat composer in the Rapidflare dashboard; switching it on runs the next message on Forge. An admin can also set the hub's agent mode to Pro Agent so every conversation on that hub runs on Forge.

Good to know

• Answers take longer. Forge is doing real work — searching, reading, writing, checking. Expect a wait proportional to the task.
• Grounding rules are unchanged. Forge does not invent SKUs, pricing, specifications or policy from memory. Facts come from your sources, with citations.
• Notifications. Because a task can run for a while, a hub can be set to email the user the answer and its artifacts as soon as the turn completes. This is off by default. Questions that arrive by email are always answered by email, on the same thread.
